Introduction

Chronicle would like to give an update on our recent activities and our roadmap for the future. 2023 marks an exciting year for Chronicle as many of the initiatives that have been experimented on in the lab are finally ready to launch.

Mission

Chronicle envisions a world that runs on decentralized systems. These systems should be transparent, censorship resistant, and open to all. Why shouldn't the data that decentralized systems rely on be as transparent as the blockchains they run on?

Chronicle’s mission is to empower systems with verifiable data for a decentralized future.

Principles (STARS)

Chronicle has identified five key pillars that serve as the guiding foundation for the protocol. By building in alignment with these core principles, Chronicle is well-positioned to become a critical infrastructure supporting a decentralized world.

Core Principles

Scalable

Chronicle is the most scalable Oracle platform.

  1. A blockchain-agnostic Oracle Protocol that can be easily deployed to any blockchain (L1, L2, L3, public, private, enterprise etc.)
  2. Chronicle Oracles use state of the art cryptography to optimize for the lowest cost per price update without compromising on security.
  3. New Oracles can be deployed via automation with just a click of a button by a user on Chronicle’s Oracle dashboard

Transparent

Chronicle is the most trusted Oracle solution because it provides end-to-end verifiability of all data.

Every Chronicle Oracle price can be verified both on-chain and off-chain. The Oracle Dashboard empowers anyone to verify the price of an Oracle and trace it back to the Feeds which constitute its price, as well as the original data source queries that each Feed used to determine its price. This includes historical prices and is searchable etherscan-style by transaction hash or block number. Feed activity and performance is monitored and ranked on the Oracle Dashboard. The provenance of every Feed can be traced back to the governance decision through which it was onboarded.
